Mission and Vision Statement
To bring a positive, empathetic attitude and enthusiasm to the field of physiotherapy and to help people make their well-being a priority.
I am passionate about helping people restore function and get back to the activities that bring them joy; whether that is playing sports at a national level or playing with their grandkids.

About Me
Background
I was fortunate to be born and raised in Victoria BC, where I can surf and snowboard and hike all year round. I have always been passionate about sports and fitness. I grew up playing soccer and snowboarding as my main sports but dabbled in track and field, volleyball and surfing. I love exploring the outdoors, hiking and camping. If I'm not outside you can find me playing my guitar or editing photos that I have taken on my most recent trip.
I love helping people make their health a priority and regain their ability to work, play sports and enjoy their life. As a Physiotherapist I work with clients to regain function following injuries or illness and help people accomplish their goals. I believe health is more than just the absence of illness or injury but a continual development of physical, mental and spiritual well being. To improve one's health it has to be done through a well rounded approach that is specific to the individual and addresses more than just the symptoms present. |
Why I chose Physiotherapy
As a physiotherapist, one of the biggest impacts I can have on my clients is to foster the development of a health relationship with exercise and movement that can be adapted long term. The core pillars of my treatment philosophy are a strong therapeutic relationship, specific exercise prescription, and manual therapy. Patient education is an integral part of my care ensuring patients understand the causes and expected healing timelines/treatment outcomes.

Why I Chose KinesiologyI have always loved sports and exercise, combined with being passionate about science since I was a little kid, kinesiology was the perfect fit for me. I have always been fascinated about how the human body works and how athletes are able to push the limits of what we believe is possible. I changed my major from biochemistry and didn't looked back. I can remember back to a couple weeks into first year anatomy at Uvic, coming to a realization that this is exactly the right program for me. My interest hasn't wavered since.

Future GoalsNow that I have graduated with my Masters in Physical Therapy I am excited to continue to develop my skills as a physiotherapist. I look forward to be continually involved in the athletic community specifically with the All Native Basketball Tournament as well as other local sports. I have a passion for working with patients with concussions as someone who has experienced a few of them. I want to learn more about treating concussions and how to better support these patients. One of my big dreams is to work overseas in Africa or Asia in areas that need health care workers. I am interested in furthering my education in continuing with the AIM levels and IMS.
